Treatment Plan Acceptance

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), nearly one-third of all adults in the United States have untreated tooth decay.  One in seven adults aged 35 to 44 years have gum disease; this increases to one in every four adults aged 65 or older.  Tooth decay (cavities) is one of the most common chronic conditions of childhood.  The solution is for Dental Professionals to bring in those children and adults and treat them.  Sounds easy enough, but it is not always easy to get a patient to accept their treatment plan.

This purpose of this course is to provide Dentists and their dental teams the training they need to successfully educate and engage each patient so they understand the importance of accepting their treatment plan and staying all the way through to the completion of the plan. It provides an overview and explanation of the Five Laws of Treatment Plan Acceptance.

Upon completion of this course, the dental professional should be able to:
-Understand the four factors of marketing basics.
-Describe the Law of Treatment Plan Acceptance Triangle.
-Demonstrate the education step of presenting a treatment plan.
-Describe the basic tools for image education.
-Describe how to use a gradient scale approach to bring about understanding of the patient’s dental condition.
